422-010 Lightweight TRA Arms Over the past few seasons we have been testing and researching the benefits of using lightweight arms in the TRA clutch. By using an arm that is lighter in weight, you are able to run more pin weight out on the end of the arm. Being able to do this allows for the arm to have a greater amount of leverage against the ramp which gives more "push" in the clutch. The results are an aggressive upshift which equals greater acceleration. Our testing and research showed us that the need for an arm that was lighter than anything else on the market was there, and development began. After many hours and a number of prototypes we have developed two variations of our lightweight arms. These arms are made from a glass filled composite making them some of the lightest and strongest technically available. Because they are so light, we have been able to put steel inserts in the end of the arm which allows us to have 2 models that cover a broader range for more applications. Composite arm base weight is 21.5 grams with either 5 gram inserts (31.5 total weight) or 8 gram inserts (37.5 total weight). Keep in mind that because of added mass on the end of arms, the centifugal force is much greater creating a much faster upshift, therefore a 5 to 7 gram reduction in total arm weight will be necessary.
